We done the tour on Sunday the 21/07. We found the staff very helpful and friendly everything was going well till the end of the tour. My problem was with the floor where the tokens are exchanged for your golden liquid. I understand that where drink and people come into contact that some may spill on the floor. But nearly every corner of the bar floor was sticky at one stage I thought I would be walking home bare foot. Is there anything you can do about this problem apart from barring me from the Experience. Yours Sincerely, Tom Lawlor
Great fun tour which we really enjoyed. Not too overcrowded (we were worried about this while we queued) but after the introduction room people were able to wander around more freely. We visited for my husbands birthday and really enjoyed ourselves.
We had a great time! If you’re in Amsterdam I will say it’s a place to visit. Only draw back it’s the pice. It’s a bit expensive.
Me and the wife did this experience whilst in Amsterdam and had pre booked it before leaving the UK. It was very enjoyable, informative, with great staff, but you go at your own pace, and there’s staff along the way to talk you through parts of the process. There’s a really cool, champions league and formula one section. The rooftop bar is really cool. With great views.
The “Tour Plus Rooftop” is a nice way to learn all about Heineken, it’s history, the beer and everything they else that Heineken does and to sample the product. The first part of the Heineken Experience was essentially a guided tour (which was short) where you learned about the History of Heineken, visited the old Historical Brew room and then went on the “Brew the Ride (an audio visual simulation of what it is like to become a Heineken beer, starting out as water, being splashed around to becoming a beer and to getting bottled, etc. After the ride, we sampled our first beer (it was ice cold and hit the spot). From there we were left on our own to tour the rest of the exhibits. There was lots of interactive things to do such as design your own beer bottle, make your own picture, etc and things to see. In the room showing old Heineken commercials, I liked the James Bond (Daniel Craig) ad (sorry but I’ve never seen it before). At the end was the “Best Dam Bar” where we used our two tokens each for more beers. It was crowded and it would have been nice to have chairs to sit down. Heineken 0.0 (zero alcohol) was very good. For the Rooftop, we took an elevator to the top, where we had a great view of Amsterdam and enjoyed another drink. I really liked that we could try a beer cocktail. I found the Passion Splash” very refreshing (a spritz cocktail with Heineken original, passion fruit, orange hope cordial & mint). Too bad we couldn’t have another one. Overall a very enjoyable experience.
Had a great time on the tour. Very interactive and entertaining. Shout out to the bartenders Danny and Noah. Great service!
The Heineken Experience in Amsterdam is a really fun activity to do with your family and friends. While walking through the old beer factory you are experiencing new things about beer, the Heineken family, and what Heineken still means in the world. You are also getting the opportunity to make your own beer bottle and add you initials to it. Also at the end of the tour you are getting 2 wooden coins that you can get to beers from. Also you can learn how to tap your first beer etc. Definitely a fun activity when you are sometime in Amsterdam ‼️👍🏻
That was perfect and funny experient. If you want to know anything about beer Then thats right place! All our group loved IT!
We had toured the brewery during a previous visit to Amsterdam 21 years ago and were glad to see that the new location was still fun and campy to visit. The staff and tour guides are fun and enthusiastic as they talk about the process which produces their wonderous brew. We looked at the exhibits, hopped on a two-person bike and pedaled around town (via the monitor screen in front of us) and enjoyed a couple very cold, very fresh glasses of Heineken. We were initially given two tokens and I used one for a regular Heineken and a non-alcoholic version for the second. They tout that the beer served at the Experience is the freshest possible and it was certainly delicious. We had a great time but were surprised that we were practically the only people over the age of 40 on the tour and in the tasting room. C’mon all you boomers, this is a fun thing and you should sign up! It’s a five-minute walk from the Rijksmuseum so wander by after your cultural art experience.
This is a very popular thing to do in town. Take a tour to see how the beer is made and then you get to sample the beer in a pleasant setting. Lots of people paying to do this.
I really like this your my wife booked it so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The actual tour was really interesting and gave you a really good insight into how the make the lager. What I really liked about it was all the other things like once your finished how the beer was made it went into the advertising side of it which was really fun. Silly things like the Photo Booth and the bike you pedal and it makes a short advert that you can download for free and keep. Also you can write a msg into a bottle of beer very cool. At the end was nice in the bar just to have a few beers. For a beer tour I thought it was very cool.
Even if you don't drink beer (I dont) this is a really great tour! Well organised and ran on time. Informative and interesting! Good value for money. The bar at the end is great and we had a lot of fun! We also purchased tickets to the rooftop bar. The view was awesome, but the bar set-up was a little confusing. We thought our tokens were for beers, but turned out they were for beer cocktails! So, no downside there for me 😊 would definitely recommend this tour!
We had a lot of fun! We weren’t looking for a serious tour experience, but more of a fun time along with some Heinekens. This was exactly that! A good time was had by all.
Excellent tour with Tomas, great fun, lots of information on Heineken & Amsterdam, lots of taste testing, lots to do & see. Roof top bar had spectacular views of the city. The staff were exceptionally friendly Happy to recommend for a lovely afternoon.
This is a fantastic experience and worth the entry fee. A really interactive, educational tour, that comes with some drinking fun as well
From beginning to end, we were treated like VIPs. Our tour guide Jenni (may be spelled incorrectly) was personable, informative and fun! So glad we chose the VIP Tour. It was worth the extra cost. Tips: arrive promptly, take photos, enjoy the multiple tastings and don’t forget to ask your guide about the red bottle and the story of the “e” on the Heineken bottle!
Different than I expected - less museum more “experience” but really neat. Plus 2.5 beers included. We added on the Canal tour (no beers included) and that was also good
Have you ever been interested in the story of The Heineken Brewery? Well on your visit to Amsterdam you can have all those questions answered by taking the Heineken Experience! Tour the facility, learn the best way to enjoy the beer as well as the brewing process. The cost is 23.00 euro, and this includes your tour and three drinks (beer or soft drinks) at the Heineken Bar. Make sure you purchase your tickets using tours-tickets.com for the best price! Enjoy Unnerved Traveler
Came here for my partner's birthday and I wasn't expecting to enjoy it so much as I'm not personally interested in beer, however it was fantastic for those who do find it interesting to learn about the history. However my favourite part was the "ride" and lights it was super cool. You get 2 tokens and a another free beer so a total of 3 each so great value for money and a fun experience.
Cannot rate our Heineken experience highly enough. We had an amazing time on our tour. Bertie our guide went above and beyond to ensure our experience was extra special. Heineken we love u X
We enjoyed learning about the history of the Heineken beer. The rooftop was fun and we were surprised with the choice of beer cocktails.
THis was a lot of fun and a lot of thought had gone into making the experience. guided tour if you wanted it, but we walked around and learnt what we wanted to know. With the tour you are given 2 tokens for free Heineken. Some activities to take part in.
Told story of how Hei started and evolved to today. Includesmarketing, family history, science behind beer making, and an interactive ride. Also included free tokens to the beer for tasting and have the option to go up to rooftop silo as well. Excellent placement of the tour stops in the actual first brewery. You actually walked through what used to be the silos.
This was much better than expected! Loved all the interaction there was around the tour (even for a non beer drinker) The staff were really friendly and helpful. Only downside I would say is we brought the personalised bottle and were so excited to bring it home as a keepsake of our trip. It was only when collecting it we got told that if we had hand luggage only for our flight home the bottle would need to be empty due to liquid limits! Maybe it could be looked at as an option of buying the personalised bottle with or without beer depending on your travel limits home
Great experience. A must see for tourist And also for people who live in The Netherlands. We loved It. So, be a reel tourist and go to Heineken
One of the activities that can be done in Amsterdam. We loved it, staff was friendly especially it was very enjoyable to drink on the roof.
Brilliant place to visit, really interesting and so much more to do than just visit the distillery. The staff are fab and they make it fun. So much to see and do. I would definitely recommend this place to visit
One of the BEST tours!! We had a mixed group (some beer lovers, some not!) But we all enjoyed it all the same! So lovely to see staff who LOVE their job. From the second we walked in to the second we left staff were warm, friendly and enthusiastic! We especially loved how when we asked questions the enthusiasm oozed out of them telling us all they knew! We didn't stop smiling/laughing the whole way round. Not wanting to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't been, but it was so much more than a 'museum' so many surprised around each corner, cannot recommend ENOUGH!!
Dolores was our guide. She was so friendly, informative and patient. We had booked the VIP tour. There was a max of 10 in the group. Dolores began the tour with 8. 4 of the group didn’t speak English so weren’t too happy that the tour was in english. We were about 10 minutes in and 2 others joined us. They were also unhappy as they had missed the beginning. I felt sorry for Dolores but her warmth and humour made the tour enjoyable. Those disgruntled guests seemed to relax and go with the flow. The history part of the tour lasted for about 50 minutes. We were all round the brewery, even up on the roof top for some spectacular views of Amsterdam. Part of the VIP tour is a tasting session in a secret bar. We had 5 beers along with paired snacks……fabulous. This was my first time trying beer. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Also, as part of the tour, we were given a personalised bottle of Heineken and two tokens to redeem in the general bar. It was incredibly busy when we arrived for our tour at 2pm so felt it was well worth a little extra to book the VIP tour.
Well organized and executed tour. Some parts easy to self navigate, other parts were great having a tour guide for more explanation. Loved the displays and simple straightforward information regarding the family business. Wonderful sensory fun along the way and of course a free beer! Being celiac, of course I knew what I was getting into not being able to enjoy a complimentary Heineken. I appreciated the soft drink alternative but it will be extra special when there is a gluten free Heineken beer option!
Our VIP host was Kenley who was a delight. It was great to jump all the queues! The VIP bar was the highlight with five beers to sample plus accompanying nibbles. It was all very intuitive and certainly not rushed. After that it was another beer in a more communal area before two tokens each got us two final beers at the bar! We had an engraved bottle of Heineken zero as a parting gift. All in all it lasted around 2 hours. We both really enjoyed the whole experience.
If you are in Amsterdam, then it is worth a visit. We found the brewing process very interesting. The rest of the experience is also good, plus you get to drink the product. We also went to the rooftop terrace, although other than the view didn’t add much. My wife doesn’t drink beer, but still found it interesting - she just would have preferred a beer-free cocktail at the rooftop bar!
Loved this!!! I’m not a beer drinker and had no interest in going on this experience however my partner wanted to. I definitely do not regret this. Walked around the brewery, all staff knowledgable. Had 5 free beers (one after the “ride”, one at the challenge ( I won) and 3 at the bar as a kind man gifted myself and partner his tokens). Would definitely recommend this, soaked up a good few hours and the rooftop bar has wonderful views of Amsterdam.
I did not buy my tickets on line in advance, luckily there was space available for later in the day. I thought it was a pretty good tour, I went here because I could not get tickets to the Anne Frank house exhibit and the Van Gough museum was closed.
Well been to many breweries but Heineken beats them all have activities to do it is great will visit again. Enjoyed the Heineken and bottled our names
As a non lager drinker I was skeptical as to what to expect but I absolutely LOVED the experience! It was engaging fun and informative I had the best time (the included pints were a massive plus!) - i recommend anyone coming to Amsterdam to visit even if you aren’t a lager drinker we still had a ball one of the best things to do in Amsterdam
Would 100% recommend this when in Amsterdam! Such friendly and informative guides. We liked that you got to walk around at whatever pace you liked and just tune into the guide when you had caught up. Lovely building inside and out.
My boyfriend and I came to Heineken experience in March 2024, it was a great experience and we are glad we did it. The tour is self guided which meant you could go as fast or slow as you liked. There was lots of interactive activities and you got a generous amount of beer. I paid €26 which included the rooftop experience. It was okay but not amazing the cocktails all have beer in so if you’re not a massive drinker like myself it might not be for you. It had a nice view though :)
The tour provided a great way to learn about the beer/breweries history! We especially enjoyed the staffs efforts to make it as enjoyable as possible (free-style rapping prior to trivia).
Booked this on the basis it seemed something you had to do if you are visiting Amsterdam. And we were not disappointed. You are given 2 beer tokens for the bar at the end of the experience. Easy enough self guided tour. A small beer halfway around. 2 beers each at the bar which was really nice. Usual shop at the end but I thought very well priced so a few bits bought. Overall very enjoyable couple of hours
Only reason this review gets 5 stars is because of our personal guide, Julieta. She was amazing and provided us a smooth and wonderful, wheelchair accessible, experience throughout the brewery. Thank you for your patience, kindness, and opportunity to learn from you today.
It was a fabulous experience. The museum was very interesting and informative, and the staff were lovely and very kind. The beers on the way around the tour were terrific, as usual, with some extras up for grabs throughout. The Heineken cocktails in the rooftop bar were stunning. Even when we got back to the UK, we emailed asking for the ingredients so we could make our own, to which they responded immediately with the precise ingredients, which was excellent of them to do. We remade them but without the karaoke and view from the roof top bar, they didn’t feel the same but were still beautiful. Thank you for giving us such a special evening and recipes to share with our friends and family.
Really enjoyable tour and definitely worth a visit if im Amsterdam. The beer is worth it 😬 very interesting how Heineken is made from start to finish.
So much fun. Actually a hoot. Didn’t expect it to be as good. We spend hours in there and didn’t get board. The rooftop bar is a must as the view was lovely and all the staff were lovely and kind. Best experience. Great value for money
Very well.organised tour with both history, process for brewing, tasting and interactive (you become a beer....) shame only 1 pump.of heneiken silver. Was hoping for more of the breweries range.
Interesting, informative and interactive. Tour was provided in English and also time to wander freely was included as part of tour. Lifts available to get to different floors. Toilets and gift shop available. Tokens provided during tour for 2 glasses of Heineken to try afterwards in bar area. Some people may find the bar area a bit loud. An alcohol free option was also available to taste. We spent about 2 hours here.
This was a good and interesting experience in Amsterdam. It takes a couple of hours to do and is mostly self-guided. The staff are great and you get 2 pints of Heinekin at the end to drink. It teaches you about the process of making beer which is interesting!
A great day out in Amsterdam located right next a canal with boat trips available, the whole experience was very informative as well as being interactive. Included in the tour are 3 small Heineken beers for you to try! Staff are very friendly and will even let you pour your own beer. Would definitely recommend to tourists visiting amsterdam for the first time.
Self guided tour with lots of history about Heineken (the man and the brewery). Tons of free beer along the way and an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon
A fab experience from start to finish!! Staff are very knowledgable and engaging. A very fun, interactive tour with lots to do and see. Top tip - Staff give out free drink tokens if you answer questions and have banter with them. The DJ at the bar at the end of the tour was fantastic! Great atmosphere & music! I’d say this tour is great for those who don’t drink Heineken too.
