Central Station

Amsterdam main train station is the real heart of the city - central not only by the name, but also as the biggest public transport transfer spot, serving not only visitors to Amsterdam, but also city inhabitants. Every day 250 0000 people go through the Amsterdam Central Station (Dutch: Amsterdam Centraal or shortly: CS; code: Asd). Final stops of several lines of city trams and buses are located here, as well as waterfront stations of city ferry lines taking cars and passengers to Amsterdam North (Amsterdam Noord). It is also here, that the main Amsterdam Tourist Office is located, as well as departure quays for the tourist boats cruising around the city canals.

The situation of the station renewal became permanent throughout the last decennia. The Sint Nicolaaskerk

The Sint Nicolaaskerk (Church of St. Nicholas) is a Roman Catholic church in the centre of Amsterdam. Officially the church was called St. Nicholas inside the Walls, i.e. the oldest part of the Amsterdam defence works. The architect, Adrianus Bleijs (1842-1912) designed the church basing himself on a combination of several revival styles of which Neo-Baroque and neo-Renaissance are the most prominent models

Scheepvaartmuseum

This museum is located in a 17th-century building previously used as a naval storage depot for the navy. You can see the exciting story of Dutch shipping and trade since the 16th Century in the Maritime Museum. Your voyage through the museum begins downstairs at the wonderful royal barge. The museum has more than 25 rooms featuring paintings, navigation instruments and model ships including old sailing vessels, luxury passenger ships and container ships.

Schreierstoren

The Schreierstoren was originally built for defensive purposes in 1487 and was part of the city wall of medieval Amsterdam. Originally it was named ‘scrye’ tower, which means sharp angle, as it stood where the Geldersekade and the Oudezijds Kolk come together at a sharp angle
